Due to management and certain music policy changes at the Rainbow we are now yet again caught in limbo searching for another venue that will support an underground dance party.

Bit of a shame as we had lots of interesting guests already lined up for next events. If anyone knows of any venues suitable or even wants to do joint parties at larger multiple room venues please let us know as we are always ready to consider any ideas!

We will be trying our best to keep the site up to date with forthcoming party info and plenty of new mixes on here that we hope you will appreciate. If anyone would like to add or send us a mix please get in touch.

As always we need your support so please keep your ear to the ground for party dates and cranked up to the biggest speakers you got for a fresh dose of quality music and some of that funky party spirit!! Look forward to seeing you soon.

Floatation is an underground party collective of like minded djs, friends and clubbers based in Birmingham and built up around the ideals and vibe of the midlands famously relaxed underground free party scene.

Brought together through a love of quality dance music to move your body and mind and a need to escape the commercial limitations of popular club culture. Inspired by the tough funky underground home grown music and parties of DIY, Smokescreen and US djs Derrick Carter, Derrick May, Francois Kervorkian the laid back soulful vibe of West Coast America San Francisco djs like Dj Rasoul, Miguel Miggs.

Over 3 years we have hosted some inspirational parties and had some of the greatest times meeting all you like minded people and experiencing a totally different club vibe and ethic that seems to have been missing for to long. Thanks to all that have made it so much fun !!
